Thompson-Teague-Sneed Foundation shares Holiday
spirit of giving with five local families

Left to Right Floyd, Alvin, Johnny , and Joe pause to visit after delivery of clothes, food and toys to five families and a total of nineteen children in the area including the children pictured here.

Rusk, TX.- The spirit of giving is high on the agenda for the Thompson-Teague-Sneed Foundation. November and December were busy months for Johnny Thompson of Dallas, Joe Teague of Jacksonville and Alvin Sneed of Grand Prairie. On a Saturday in the month of November the three brought a large variety of men women and children clothing to Rusk, set up at the Informer office on the loop and gave them away to everyone who could make use of them. Christmas was special for nineteen children in five families in the Rusk area. The foundation members shopped for clothing, toys and food items for

Christmas dinner. The items were packaged separately for each family and delivered the week of Christmas.  “We just want to show that we care. Giving of what we have is the best way to do that”, Said Johnny Thompson. This was the second Christmas the foundation gave a hand to local citizens in helping to make their holidays brighter.  Johnny (Billy), Alvin and Joe are all native Ruskites, born, raised and educated here in Rusk. Their close friendship with each other goes back to kindergarten days. Even though they all moved away, Rusk and the people here remain special in their hearts.
